Delete Your Abide Account

If you no longer wish to use Abide in Christ, you can request deletion of your account and associated personal data.

Option 1: Delete from the mobile app

1. Open the Abide in Christ app.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Scroll to the “Danger zone” section at the bottom.
4. Tap Delete Account.
5. Confirm your request.

Option 2: Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app, email us at:

Please include:

• Google email used to sign in
• Registered phone number, if available
• Church name, if applicable

After we verify your request, your account will be scheduled for deletion.

What data is deleted

Data deleted may include:

• Profile information (name, email address, phone number, profile photo)
• Church membership information
• Personal notes
• Prayer requests, replies, and prayer interactions associated with your account
• Appointments, attendance, baptism, and consent records tied to your account
• SOS alerts and your emergency-contact settings
• Blocked-user settings
• App preferences and notification tokens
• Trusted-device records

Some records also involve the church’s own operations or other members, so we anonymise rather than delete them: your name is removed, but the record itself remains where it serves someone else’s purpose. This applies to giving records (kept for the church’s own accounting), a ministry leadership assignment, or a cottage prayer request you organised (the posting and other members’ attendance records are unaffected). If you were listed as someone else’s emergency contact, that person is notified so they can choose someone new.

Some records may be retained only where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or transaction-compliance purposes. Such records are retained only for the period required by applicable law.
